UPDATE, WEDNESDAY MORNING: The Eureka Police Department says:

The silver Dodge Magnum taken during the July 19, 2016 robbery has been located.  It was recovered on July 19, 2016 at about 8:45 p.m. at Hawthorne and A streets in Eureka.  The caller reported it had been parked there all day.  No suspects were found associated with the vehicle.

On July 19, 2016, at about 2:30 a.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a residence on the 1200 block of Bayshore Way for the report of an armed robbery. It was reported that two men entered a residence with firearms and left in the victim’s vehicle.

The victim reported he was handcuffed outside his front door after returning home from grocery shopping. The two male suspects forced him into the home and demanded he open a safe. The suspects then left in the victim’s vehicle, a silver Dodge Magnum, California license 5MHL869.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention when seen by ambulance staff. The suspects were only described as white males, armed with semi- automatic firearms. The suspects and stolen vehicle are still outstanding.
