UPDATE, 2:59 p.m.: The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office says:

Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has detained the suspect in Hoopa on Highway 96. A Trinity County Sheriff’s Office unit is on their way to pick up the suspect to transport them to the Trinity County Jail.

The suspect is being identified as Kristi McCoy, DOB 04-19-77.

The victim has been flown to a Redding area hospital.

The incident is still under investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

Per scanner traffic, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies are helping to investigate this case around eastern Humboldt this afternoon.

From the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office:

On Thursday, July 21, 2016 at approximately 12:30 pm Trinity County Sheriff’s Dispatch was notified of a victim with a gunshot wound at a residence on Underwood Mountain Road in Burnt Ranch. The victim is currently getting medical attention. The suspect has fled the scene and headed towards Humboldt County in a 1994 White Jeep Cherokee.
