Humboldt County resident Jeffrey Floyd Bernhardt passed away peacefully in his sleep July 15, 2016. He was born on December 30, 1969 to Edmund and Nina Joanne Bernhardt, at General Hospital in Eureka, California.
Jeffrey is preceded in death by his father, Edmund Bernhardt. Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Alyssa Bernhardt, and four children: Christian J. Bernhardt, Ciara M. Bernhardt, Cammeron F. Bernhardt and Caryssa L. Bernhardt. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Suzette Bernhardt-Jewell, and mother, Nina Joanne Shoemaker.
Jeffrey was an intelligent, artistic, charismatic, comical, hardworking and heartfelt man who had a contagious smile and enjoyed making others laugh. He was very giving and had no problem lending a helping hand to others.
Jeffrey enjoyed many hobbies growing up including Cub Scouts, playing baseball, guitar, billiards and riding his dirtbike. Most of all his joys in life were the ocean and fishing.
Jeffrey owned a local business in the 1990s named Burger Quest. He then changed his career to become a successful journeyman/foreman plumber of 12 years.
What Jeffrey loved most in life was to create happy memories with his family to cherish forever. He had a passion for cars, sports, music and singing. His favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jeff was able to enjoy a few special life long goals, which include going to the 2002 San Francisco Giants World Series, seeing the Yankees vs. Red Sox playoffs at Old Yankee stadium before it was demolished in 2010, and watching Elton John perform live at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
