Humboldt County continues to crawl into the digital age. As our latest example, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office announced today that it would begin releasing weekly its list of active warrants, meaning those people who are currently wanted for some alleged crime or another.

How many people are on that list in Humboldt? Geez, more than we thought — enough to fill up a 112-page PDF with names of people believed to have committed crimes ranging from felonies to misdemeanors.

Hey, maybe you’re on the list and don’t know it! If that is the case, and you’d like to get that cleared up, the Sheriff’s Office says “you may turn yourself in at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, 901 Fifth Street, Eureka. Or you may turn yourself in at any law enforcement agency.” Additionally, if you have information pertaining to the whereabouts of someone on the list, the Sheriff’s Office would like you to call 445-7251 or leave an anonymous tip at 268-2539. Or, if you think you or someone you know has a warrant but is missing from the list, you can phone up the Humboldt County Superior Court 445-7256.

To add to the Lost Coast Outpost’s growing list of criminal justice related gizmos — you’re aware of BOOKED, PATROLLED and JUDGED, of course — we plan to cook up some sort of clean, LoCO-y bot that will snatch up and parse out this information for online display in the near future. (WANTED seems the most obvious name for this thing, but you are welcome to nominate another moniker in the ‘dome below). In the meantime, you can check to see if you and Johnny Law are square by viewing the entire list here.
