A woman is being taken to the hospital after a two-car collision at the intersection of Henderson and H streets in Eureka sent her Toyota Corolla veering into a single-family home.
The accident occurred just before 10 a.m. Police and paramedics responded, and requested someone from the city’s building department to come check on the structural integrity of the house. A tow truck is coming to remove the vehicle.
Officer Corrie Watson of the Eureka Police Department tells the Outpost‘s Ryan Burns, who is on scene, that witnesses said the Corolla was traveling west on Henderson when it ran a red light, colliding with a GMC Envoy, which was traveling south on H.
The Corolla driver complained of knee and chest pain, according to Captain Jon Chambers of Humboldt Bay Fire. The other driver was uninjured.
