One Klamath resident and several animals have died after a home on Weber Drive caught fire early this morning around 4:15 a.m. Another victims was hospitalized with severe burns.
Calfire Public Information Officer Laura Coleman told the Outpost that the death is being handled by the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office.
This is the second house fire to affect the small Klamath community in the last two days. A Klamath community member told the Outpost deceased victim was an elderly man who lived at the home.

Details: When units arrived there was one fully involved residential structure spreading to an adjacent structure. The first structure was completely destroyed however the Firefighters were able to save the second structure with little damage. During the firefight responders found one human body and animals that were deceased. One other victim was transported by ambulance for full thickness burns. We (CAL FIRE) will not have information on either of the individuals until the investigation is finished and information is released by law enforcement.
