UPDATE, 10:25 a.m.: Humboldt County Aviation Programs Coordinator Emily Jacobs messaged us shortly after our post wen live to say the blimp will not be landing here today due to our notorious fog. The blimp people are hopeful that they’ll be able to touch down tomorrow.
The Goodyear Blimp will arrive in Humboldt County later today, and stay overnight at the Arcata-Eureka Airport.
Program Director with the Humboldt County Aviation Division Emily Jacobs tells the Outpost, that the blimp will arrive sometime during the afternoon or evening hours.
The blimp is traveling through the Pacific Northwest as part of its “Spirit of Innovation Summer Tour 2016” tour, and is on its way here from the NASCAR Toyota-SaveMart 350 in Sonoma County.
The blimp will depart from Humboldt sometime tomorrow. We will update when we have more info.
If you spot the blimp, remember to snap a pic for your pals at LoCO.
