Original Post: Eighty-eight people in the deep southeastern Humboldt backwoods are without power at the moment.

Because why?

Because the power lines are down.

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works tells us that, in fact, the lines are down across Alderpoint Road, which means no Blocksburg for you!

Specifically, this is what the department says:

Alderpoint Road is closed at Casterlin Road due to power poles and lines down.

They’re pretty good about updating these things when conditions change. So we will update you when they do that.
