Humboldt State University press release: 

A Humboldt State University student was killed and two other students were injured in a car accident Sunday evening near Crescent City.

The accident occurred at about 10 a.m. on Highway 101, and all three students were traveling in the same car.

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate, and has been in close contact with University Police. Campus officials are reaching out to family members, friends, and others to provide support and other assistance.

The names of the students are not yet being released to the public. The students who were injured were transported to Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.
