Have you been thinking about getting a dog but are not sure if pet ownership is right for you? Well maybe you could test your abilities to cope with canine cohabitation by fostering a Palco pooch! Perhaps anticipating major impending transitions, the City of Eureka is reaching out to local animal rescue groups to help manage the numerous dogs the reside at Palco Marsh. More in the release below:
Eureka Police have documented 69 dogs currently living in the Palco Marsh. Campers who seek shelters cannot take these animals with them and some are seeking foster homes for their dog until they are able to house the animal. The City of Eureka would like to invite local animal rescue groups to attend the weekly service fair held each Friday at 9 am to Noon to assist in any way possible. The service fair is held at the north parking lot off of Bayshore Way, north of Sears. Additional information regarding the weekly service fair can be obtained by emailing: Humboldtservicefair@gmail.com.
