A Eureka man was arrested for brandishing a folding knife during a verbal argument outside the Sidelines Sports Bar last night.

Suspect Cody Wuillmire was located in the plaza by the Arcata Police Department around 12:12 a.m. The 24-year old was arrested for brandishing a pocket knife and violating parole.

According to scanner traffic, an APD officer held the suspect at gunpoint near Cafe Brio until backup units arrived. However, APD Sergeant Ron Slight was unable to confirm or deny if the suspect was held at gunpoint.

Wuillmire was booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
