UPDATE, May 13, 2:40 p.m.: The Sheriff’s Office says:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has identified 31 year old Nathan Ryan Danielson as the suspect responsible for the burglary at Community Cornerstone in Redway. It is believed Danielson broke into a vehicle in Mendocino County and stole a 9mm handgun after the burglary at Community Cornerstone. The stolen safes were later found empty in Mendocino County by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses have reported seeing Danielson and the stolen vehicle in the Leggett area of Mendocino County.
Danielson is considered armed and dangerous. Contact law enforcement immediately if you see Danielson or the stolen Dodge Stratus.

On Thursday, May 12, 2016 at about 7:35 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary that occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. last night and 7 a.m. this morning at the Community Cornerstone in Redway. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Community Cornerstone employees. The employees told the deputy a window was broken to gain entry, and numerous items were taken. Amongst these items were merchandise for the Special Olympics, two small safes containing cash, and keys to company vehicles. One of the vehicles was stolen, a 2006 bronze Dodge Stratus, license plate 6NGV161.
The Community Cornerstone is a nonprofit organization that helps persons with disabilities. They assist with transportation, meals, recreational activities, and a variety of personal and vocational skills.
