A Humboldt Bay engine drove through a cow pasture this morning to get at a smoldering campfire off 101 near the Herrick Avenue exit, down the tracks from the end of the Hikshari trail.
They found a small pile of trash burning with no one present, and quickly put it out.
Firefighters on scene told the Outpost’s Andrew Goff, who hoofed it out to the scene, that this is not a new camp. They’ve responded to the same location in the past.
