Trinity County Sheriff’s Office press release:
On May 9, 2016 at approximately 1:10pm Trinity County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a report of a holdup alarm at Umpqua Bank on Main Street in Weaverville, CA. Deputies responded to Umpqua Bank where employees informed Officers that a white male adult, clean shaven approximately 6 feet tall wearing black pants, a long sleeve black shirt, a beanie type hat and large sunglasses held up the bank with a semi-automatic firearm and left the bank with an unknown amount of cash. We have reports that the subject either left on foot or car.
Weaverville Elementary School was put on a soft lockdown as a precaution. Students will be released at normal times and Officers are on scene.
UPDATE: [Attached is a photo] of what Investigators believe is the suspect’s vehicle. They believe there is a driver and the suspect in the vehicle.
