Eureka police officers nabbed a reported burglar attempting to break into a home on the 1400 Block of Union Street around 4:30 p.m.

According to scanner traffic, a suspect wearing a black mask was attempting to enter through apartment windows while a 12-year-old was home alone.

LoCO’s Andrew Goff was on scene, and reports that officers found the suspect fiddling with an apartment window before making the arrest. 

Scanner traffic also indicated that the suspect was held at gunpoint, and was acting erratically during the arrest.

The arrest was made just a few blocks from the scene of today’s reported shooting.

But where there is darkness, light. During his on-scene coverage, Goff was able to capture this pretty decent Humboldt sunset hanging in the backdrop.
