On Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at about 8:25 p.m. a Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff and his K-9 conducted a traffic stop on Trinity Acres Rd in Willow Creek.

When the vehicle stopped, the driver took off on foot. The Deputy along with his K-9, contacted three passengers and did not pursue the driver at this time.

The Deputy determined there was marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search. The Deputy located two firearms, approximately 39 grams of heroin, 1.2 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 1 lb of marijuana, and ammunition of various calibers.

During the investigation the Deputy determined the driver to be 35-year-old Cody Benjamin Sides. Sides has two felony warrants out for his arrest and is on several grants of probation.
