A Shasta County Sheriff’s Office vehicle got an unexpected paint job yesterday while deputies were on scene at the Lake Fire.

“Sheriff’s Office assisting in evacuating residences in the City of Shasta Lake,” The SCSO wrote on Facebook. “Sad to report 2 homes lost, but grateful nobody injured. One of our cars was the victim of an air tanker drop.”

The Lake Fire is burning south of Shasta Dam Blvd in Shasta Lake City. Calfire reports that the blaze is 75 acres in size and and 50 percent contained.
