Deputies contacted the victim who reported their residence was forcibly entered by an unknown suspect. The suspect was subsequently chased off by the resident although personal items had already been taken.
Today at about 2:00 p.m., another resident who lives in the 100 block of County Yard Road, which is in the same proximity as the above residence, reported their vehicles were entered and items were taken.
Video surveillance of this theft was captured and Deputies are following up on investigative leads; suspect identification is pending.
In February of this year, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a rash of residential and vehicular burglaries in Southern Humboldt communities that are similar to the two reported today. The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to secure their vehicles and to report any suspicious activity around their homes.
