UPDATE, 12:45 p.m.: Moments ago a man was removed from the apartment building on a stretcher, though he was conscious and looked relaxed, according to the Outpost‘s Andrew Goff, who was on the scene. Eureka Public Information Officer Brittany Powell said the situation has been resolved peacefully. 

No explosive devices were found.

Eureka police officers responded to the Eureka Central Residence apartments on the corner of Fourth and E streets shortly after noon 11 a.m. today after receiving secondhand information that a disgruntled tenant wanted to blow up the building, EPD Public Information Officer Brittany Powell said.

The fourth floor of the building has been partially evacuated while officers negotiate with the male suspect, Powell said.
