Arcelia Martinez was born December 26, 1932 in San Vicente, El Salvador. She passed away on November 3, 2017 at Granada Rehabilitation & Wellness Center.

She came to the United States in 1965 to help care for her niece and nephew. She was a past member of Latin American Club, and a volunteer at St. Bernard’s Parish.

Arcelia left behind many friends, such as Matilda Vega, Cuca Burns, Maria Salazar and Julia Walters and so many more friends too numerous to mention. Arcelia is survived by her brother Mario Martinez and sister-in-law Bonnie Martinez; sister, Elena Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nephews and a great-niece, who all loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her brother Arturo Martinez, and her mother, Maria Martinez. She was an amazing woman and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

There will a Memorial Mass for Arcelia on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 12 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 615 H Street, Eureka. There will be a reception in memory of Arcelia at the home of Mario and Bonnie Martinez following the mass.
