Planned Parenthood supporters stormed the steps of the Humboldt County Superior Courthouse this afternoon in protest of President Trump’s push to defund the nonprofit reproductive health organization.

KHUM DJ Cliff Berkowitz was on scene and reports that the crowd was lively, drawing honks from 5th Street drivers until 2 p.m.

“Hundreds of women, men and children showed up with signs of support for Planned Parenthood urging drivers to honk as they passed,” Berkowitz said. “It was a festive atmosphere. Only three counter protesters showed up, all men, and left after the first 20 minutes.”
