Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
On Monday, February 6, 2017 at about 1055am, Hoopa Tribal Officer responded to Little Moon Lane in Hoopa for a patrol check of reports of a women screaming. From his vehicle the Tribal Officer observed a female on a porch of a residence holding a rifle. The female pointed the rifle towards the officer, the officer then retreated to a safe location and requested the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene to assist. Law Enforcement was able secure a perimeter of the residence. With the assistance of a family member, the female eventually exited the residence unarmed. The 22-year-old female was taken into custody and is being currently held on a mental health evaluation.
