Above: Boy scout bait?

Dammit! Here it is an entirely new year and you still have browning flora in your living room from two whole holidays ago. When are you going to be a responsible adult and get rid of your Christmas tree, Humboldt?

Hey, good news! You can let children take care of your adult duties for you! Yes, over the next two weekends, Humboldt scouts — of both the “BOY” and “CUB” varieties — will provide curbside pickup for your used-up, undecorated trees. And all for only a small $5 donation in support of their scouting ways. (Note: You can totally give more than that. And should.)

Here’s the boy’s tree pickup schedule:

  • Arcata/McKinleyville, Saturday, Jan. 7 and Sunday, Jan. 8: To schedule pick up, leave your name, address, phone number and preferred pickup date by calling or texting 707-440-9272 or emailing arcatacubscouts@gmail.com
  • Eureka, Saturday, Jan. 7 and Saturday, Jan. 14: To schedule pick up, leave your name, address, phone number and preferred pickup date by calling 707-633-8213 or emailing eurekatroop1129@gmail.com.

Help yourself out by helping out some scouts, you louts!
