From the California Highway Patrol, Garberville Office:
On 06/06/2017, at approximately 0830 hours, two concerned citizens came to the Garberville Area CHP office to report a possible sighting of suspect wanted for the vehicle theft and reckless discharge of a firearm which occurred in Alderpoint on 06/04/2017.
CHP units quickly responded to the location of the sighting and located a male matching the description of the suspect. Upon contacting the suspect the CHP officers determined him to be under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested him. The officers ran a records check of the suspect who verbally identified himself as Christopher Allen Gould. It was determined that the suspect’s real name was Scott Allen Brown and he was using an alias.
The officers conducted a search of the suspect incident to arrest and located drug paraphernalia, and suspected methamphetamine. The victims in the vehicle theft were contacted and positively identified the suspect as the person who stole their vehicle and discharged the firearm. It was determined the suspect was a felon at the time of the original incident, and he was in possession of a firearm.
The suspect was transfered to the Humboldt County Jail where he was booked on the following charges: 1085
- 1(a)VC- vehicle theft, 246.3 PC reckless discharge of a firearm,
- 417(a)(2)PC- Draw or exhibit a firearm in a rude or threatening manner,
- 29800(a)(1)PC, felon in possession of a firearm,
- 11550(a)H&S- under the influence of a controlled substance and
- 11377(a)H&S- possession of methamphetamine.
