Our dear mom passed away on March 5, 2017 in her sleep. She was born Lynn Marie Alexander on September 9, 1932 in San Francisco.

Mom grew up living in different places during her childhood. She came to Humboldt County during the ’50s, married and had four kids. She divorced in 1963 and married Charles E. Bleything in 1965. Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman. We did a lot of camping and motorcycle-riding during the summers, since Chuck worked for the school system. Mom loved hunting and actually shot one of the biggest elk that is still mounted at the Elks Club today.

Once we were old enough, Mom decided to go back to school and get a degree in library science. She spent nights making dinner for us and then studying. During the day she would go to classes, but get home in enough time for us after school. She got a job as a librarian at Jacoby Creek Elementary School and was there until her retirement in the late 1980s. Mom was an incredibly strong and vibrant person. She was caring and loved life. Mom was always there for all of us and loved getting phone calls. We will miss her terribly. The world has lost a wonderful soul.

She leaves behind her soulmate and husband of 52 years, Chuck; her son, Steven A. Borowski(Diane); her daughter Rae M. Bott (Bruce); her daughter Debbie L. Christenson (Rod); her daughter Helen M. McCaughan (Dennis); plus step-children Pam Novak (Tom), Kris Bleything and Russ Bleything (Dorothy). She leaves grandchildren Michael Christenson (Amanda), Matthew Christenson (Marisa), Brandon Bott, Carson Bott, Nick Borowski (Julian), Vincent Borowski, Amy Borowski, Tambra Bleything, Talesa Bleything and Hannah Mae; and great-grandchildren Kaeden, Noah and Bailey. She also leaves her beloved Koda bear.

We will miss you, Mom. We will carry a part of your strength with us always. Mom loved dogs and animals, so if you would like to donate in Mom’s name find an animal shelter and contribute to that.

A special thanks go to her good friends Natalie, Mickie, Dory, Shar and Arnie for helping her whenever she needed help and for the many hours that they helped us.
