Eureka Police Chief and hashtagger-in-training Andy Mills pounded out the enticing tweet above prompting all of Humboldt County media or whatever to bug EPD public information officer #Brittany #Powell. She was gracious.
So! This morning, Powell tells us, officers with EPD’s Problem Oriented Policing and Criminal Investigations Section were following up on a case when the suspect in question, 24-year-old Jonathen Delvalle, ran out the back door of the residence and was promptly taken into custody. It was later discovered he had warrants for homicide in New York City.

On March 7, 2017, at about 10:15 a.m., Detectives from the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) and Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) were following up on a felony investigation on the 2000 block of California Street when an unknown male fled out the back door of a residence.
Detectives were able to detain the male, who then gave multiple different identities. After further investigation, it was determined the male was Jonathen Delvalle, 24 of New York. Delvalle was found to have warrants out of the City of New York for homicide and a felony drug charge.
Delvalle was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and is awaiting extradition.
