Travis Charles Chiokai was born on Sept. 24, 1991 to Phyllis Santos and Hailey Chiokai. From the very beginning both knew Travis would take the world by storm. He was always full of energy and on the go, similar to the way he lived his life, traveling throughout the country.

Travis was born in Susanville but grew up in Humboldt County attending Rio Dell Elementary and later Fortuna and East High School. After high school, Travis had various jobs but ultimately decided his passion was becoming a lineman. He graduated from Northwest Lineman College on March 16, 2012. He enjoyed and had passion for his work, combining his thrill-seeking spirit and love of traveling and meeting new people.

In 2015, Travis met the love of his life, girlfriend Latashia Perez, and in 2017 they found out they were expecting a beautiful baby girl. Travis was over the moon to be a father and cherished each moment shared between baby-to-be Avery and Tash.

Travis left this world making a lasting impact on so many lives. Through his infectious smile, his outgoing personality and his warm heart, people tended to gravitate towards him. He was the type of person who saw the good in everything and everyone he came across.

A life lesson he will leave us all with is to live life to the fullest and love whole heartedly.

Travis is survived by his beautiful girlfriend, Latashia, and unborn daughter, Avery, his mother Phyllis Santos, Father Hailey Chiokai, brothers Jason, William, Hailey Jr., stepbrothers and sisters, grandparents Gene and Cynthia Burns, various aunts, uncles, cousins and his many, many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Nov. 20 at the Fortuna River Lodge, located at 1800 Riverwalk Drive, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to “The Chiokai Foundation” to assist Latashia and baby Avery at www.youcaring.com.
