Edrice Day was born April 23, 1936 to Ed and Alta McFarlane. She grew up in Eureka and loved living there by the ocean throughout her life. Her family life had always been large and she is survived by her siblings Bob, June, Margie, Lynn and Janet and sisters in law Audrey and Kathe.

In her younger years she was proud to have worked for the county planning commission as a draftsman and later enjoyed working as a realtor. When her family grew, she found her greatest joy in being a mother. She welcomed a son in law, Russell DeLonzor, into her fold and loved him and Allen’s partner Brandi Rexford as her own. She was a truly amazing mom.

Her love for travel budded early in life and that passion followed her to the end. The travel bug took her to UK, China, Australia, Hawaii, Italy, Spain, Canada, Panama and the Bahamas.

Eddie’s hobbies included painting and gardening. She is survived by her husband Delbert. Together over 55 years they lovingly raised Kim, Debbie and Allen. As the grandchildren came, the circle of love grew to include Derik, Dylan, Devon, Matison, Haley, Allie, Jocelyn and Amy…plus 3 great grandchildren Xavier, Breya and Amelia.

Edrice lived her life the way she wanted to, full of love and laughter and a fiercely loyal connection to her family and friends. She was the rock so many counted on for strength and the guiding light we followed. Her loving smile will forever be seared into the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 25 from 3pm-6pm at the Day residence.
