AT&T service came back online late last night at about 11 p.m., after having been down for nearly 48 hours due to the sudden, catastrophic fires to your south. Humboldt County phones and internet should all be more or less back to normal.
From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
One of the consequences of the tragic fires in our neighboring counties was the loss of phone service to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. We are pleased to announce that all of our normal phone lines are now operational. Those wishing to contact the Sheriff’s Office may now contact us by using the phone numbers in use before the horrendous tragedy experienced by our neighbors to the south. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Meanwhile, the local Calfire command is warning that the dry, windy weather that helped feed the fires continues, and is warning locals — especially in the southeastern portion of the county — to be cautious.
Very High Fire Danger today for southeastern Humboldt County. Heavy fire business in the north State with Red Flag Warnings.
