From the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:

On Wednesday, October 11th at approximately 11:30 A.M., Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, assisted by a narcotics detection K-9 from the District Attorney’s Office served a search warrant at a residence in the 2100 block of Rhonerville Road in Fortuna.

At that location Special Agents found approximately 5.9 grams of suspected heroin, 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3 pounds of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials and other items commonly used to ingest narcotics/controlled substances.

Located at the residence at the time the warrant was served was 37 year old Elizabeth Quenell and her 6 year old daughter. Special Agents located Quenell’s live in boyfriend, 46 year old Johnnie Leavens a short distance from the residence.

Based on the evidence located at the residence, Quenell was arrested for maintaining a residence for the purposes of distributing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana for sale and child endangerment. Leavens was arrested for maintaining a residence for the purposes of distributing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a narcotic, and possession of a narcotic for sale.

Both Leavens and Quenell were booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for the above listed charges. Child Welfare Service was contacted regarding Quenell’s daughter and she was placed with a local family member.
