LeMarcus Raekwon Martin. | HCSO

On Wednesday August 30th at about 1 p.m. Eastern Time, 21-year-old LeMarcus Raekwon Martin was arrested in South Carolina at the Greenville-Spartenburg International Airport by airport police. The arrest is related to the August 6th shooting that occurred in the Briceland/China Creek Road area of Southern Humboldt County.  The victim of the shooting/robbery received near fatal injuries and was flown to an out of area hospital for treatment. The victim is still is serious condition but is expected to survive.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Martin after conducting an investigation, and receiving statements from multiple witnesses who had knowledge of the event. Martin is being charged with 211pc/Robbery, and 182pc/ Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Martin is currently being held without bail in South Carolina. Martin will be extradited to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Once in Humboldt County Martin will have a bail amount set at $500,000.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the members of the Southern Humboldt Community who assisted by providing the information that lead to the arrest of Martin.
