From Caltrans District Two:

Caltrans District 2, in coordination with the California Interagency Incident Management Team 3, Cal Fire, California Highway Patrol, Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, Trinity County Department of Transportation, and J.F. Shea has lifted the single-time openings on State Route 299W in the area of the Helena Fire.  The highway is now under continuous one-way traffic control between Junction City and Big Flat.  Traffic control operations are anticipated 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Motorists can expect up to 45 minute delays in the area.

Flaggers are currently running traffic control from the Junction City Campground to approximately 1 mile east of the Helena Bridge.

The highway is subject to closure at any time due to the possibility of debris and other changing conditions.  Travelers are urged to drive slowly and carefully through the area, as crews and equipment are present.  Restoration efforts and road construction are underway to replace damaged infrastructure in the area.
