Kendall McKay Schroeder, born August 16, 1995, of Eureka (though born in Redding), passed away suddenly at the young age of 22, in a tragic auto accident the evening of Sept. 5, 2017.

Kendall loved and always will love his daughter, Ilya, his girlfriend, Lacy Mitchell, and his family.

He was a fun, loving and adventurous young man who was always ready to be outside. He loved to play music with his best friend, Adam Byrd, and was always laughing and enjoying the moment. Hockey was his favorite, and grew up playing tennis and baseball as well. Anything with wheels was a promise that Kendall loved it — skateboards, scooters, roller blades and bikes. Kendall lived his life with a gusto of his own style, with a passion for exciting things.

Kendall was preceded by his mother, Jo Allen, and left behind so many loved ones. He left behind his sweet daughter, Ilya, his parents, David and Patty Schroeder, brother, step-brothers, and half-brothers — Corbett Schroeder, Kenneth and Marquez Fudge, Dik and Jon Wood — his girlfriend, Lacy, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless adopted families here in Humboldt and elsewhere.

Kendall was loved by all of us, and he will forever live on in our memories. May we all remember his contagious laugh, his loving heart, and his warm and comforting bear hugs. His family hopes that we all remember him in the fondest ways.

May Kendall rest in peace, and never be forgotten.
