Man Attempting to Sell Weed Reportedly Beaten With Firearm, Thrown From Best Western Balcony by Two Robbery Suspects in Garberville
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
On Saturday September 23,
2017 at approximately 5:15 pm, Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s
Office responded to the Best Western-Humboldt House Inn in Garberville for a
report of a male subject that was injured and in the possession of a firearm.
Deputies located the subject who had been transported to a local hospital for
treatment of his injuries.
Deputies learned through
their investigation the victim attempted to sell marijuana to two unidentified
individuals at the motel. The individuals pulled out firearms and robbed the
victim of the marijuana. The victim attempted to grab his marijuana when he was
struck in the face with the firearm. The victim was thrown over the balcony and
landed on the first floor of the motel where he suffered moderate injuries.
The two individuals were
described as heavier set African-American adults wearing blue jeans. They were
last seen leaving the area in a newer model silver Dodge Stratus with Oregon
license plates. A firearm was recovered on scene.
