Carlo A. Dorigoni, age 66, passed away on Sunday, March 25th in Eureka, surrounded by family. He was born on March 15th, 1952 in San Francisco to parents Julio and Evangelina Dorigoni.

Carlo worked most of his life doing what he loved; logging. Prior to finding his love for the woods Carlo spent several years bartending in Downieville, Calif. Downieville is where Carlo met Lori Welch, the mother to his three children — Amanda, Emily and Michael. It was soon after they met that the couple relocated to Humboldt County to raise their family.

Carlo was a dedicated father and found his second passion as a basketball coach in the early 2000’s. Carlo was happiest when on the court coaching his teams. Carlo will be dearly missed as a father but also as a member of his community. Carlo truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures — chatting with friends and neighbors, spending time with his kids and nephews and barbecueing on the weekends. Carlo had an uncanny ability to make everyone he met feel welcome.

He is survived by his family — Amanda Dorigoni, Emily Dorigoni, Michael Dorigoni, Lori Welch, Darcy Baker, Kris Wharff, Kaden Wharff, Jon Nunez, Berto Martinez — and through his memories among those he mentored, coached and met along the way.

A celebration of life will be held at his residence from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th at 4960 Lundblade Dr, Eureka.
