A man reportedly suffering from mental health issues prompted the Eureka Police Department to shut down a portion of E Street this morning.
EPD spokesperson Brittany Powell tells the Outpost that the man was reported to be on the roof of a home on the 3200 block of E Street around 8:45 a.m.
One Outpost reader reported seeing as many as 10 police cars in the area before the man was brought down from the roof.
Powell said that despite the heavy police response, the person did not appear to be brandishing any weapons or presenting a threat to the public. However, medical personnel were staged as a precaution.
The issue was reportedly resolved by 9:40 a.m., when police brought the man into the care of medical professionals.
