Evelyn married her high school sweetheart, Frank Massaro, on December 1, 1946. They were married for over 59 years. She was a devoted wife and mother raising three children in Richmond, Calif., before moving back home to Eureka to enjoy retirement. Evelyn’s real pleasure came from being with her family. She doted on her sons: Len (Pam) of Redding, Loren (Debbie) of Placerville, and Vince (Shirley) of Richmond. She was especially proud of her six grandchildren (Blake, Kayla, Karlianna, Jill, Kelly, and Joseph) and her eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters and brother: Mary Kirkpatrick of San Francisco, Frances Oliver of Scotia, Gertrude Siggins of Eureka, Barbara Rhodes of Eureka, Genevieve DeMeyer of Fort Collins, Colo., Florence Windbigler of Fortuna, and Eddy Early of Seattle, Wash.

Arrangements are under the care of Sanders Funeral Home, Eureka.

Memorial Service will be in the chapel at Oceanview Cemetery on August 25th at 10 a.m. Evelyn will be buried alongside Frank in the Veteran’s section. Following the service, a reception will held at the Eureka Elks Club.
