The Humboldt Crabs defeated the San Francisco Blues by 19-6 this afternoon, closing out the 2018 season with yet another absurd victory.
The Blues — wearing mismatched uniforms, for some reason — started off with amazingly dismal pitching, notching up walk after walk and beaning several Crab batters accidentally, but not hard enough to hurt them.
Their offense actually got it going a little bit in the fifth and six innings, closing the score to 8-6. For a moment there it was threatening to become a game. But then then the Crab hammer fell and our boys effortlessly totted up 10 more runs in the next two innings, aided and abetted by some Keystone Kops antics from the Blues infield. It was funny!
That’s a wrap! Congratulations on another fine season of semipro baseball, Humboldt! As tribute, the Outpost will now count down the top 12 players on this year’s Crabs squad, based on how cool their names are.
