Ronnie Ray Hooper
1957-2018

Ron, as he was known by his family and friends was born as a twin on August 24, 1957 in Eureka to Raymond Morris Hooper and Betty Lee Hooper. He passed away on December 10, 2018 after a long illness.

Ron attended and graduated from Eureka High School in 1975. After graduation, he went to the College of the Redwoods and Fresno State College in California. He was a local contractor for many years. He had fond memories of attending Pine Hill Baptist Church as a child.

Ron enjoyed deer, duck hunting and fishing with family and friends throughout Northern California and Idaho. He enjoyed family outings at Redwood Creek. He loved to visit his relatives in North Carolina and the fun family reunions. Ron loved his dogs, Jake and Jackie. He had a witty sense of humor and was a generous man.

He is survived by his loving mother, Betty Hooper; brother Guy (Linda) Hooper; twin sister Connie (Rick) Leggett; nephews Steven (Brandy) Hooper, Russ (Mel) Hooper; great-niece Avery Hooper, and many great cousins, special aunts, uncles, and good friends.

Ron will be remembered as a great friend from across this community. He will be dearly missed by all.

The family will be having a graveside service at Oceanview Cemetery, Eureka, December 15, 2018, Saturday, at 11 a.m. There will be a celebration of life held at the Humboldt Grange on Humboldt Hill Road, Eureka, from noon to 3 p.m.
