Fortuna Police Department Press release:

On Saturday November 15, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Fortuna Police officers responded to a grocery store located in the 400 block of South Fortuna Boulevard for a reported armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect had entered the store and held the clerk at gunpoint while demanding cash. The suspect was described as a White male wearing a Blue Sweatshirt, gloves, and had their faces covered. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled on foot. The clerk was not injured during the robbery. 

Officers collected video and physical evidence from the business as well as nearby businesses and determined that the female subject was also involved.

At approximately 10:30 pm, officers responded to a grocery store located in the 700 block of South Fortuna Boulevard for a report of a warrant suspect in the business. Upon arrival, officers determined that the male suspect and the female accompanying him were the two subjects from the previous robbery. Both subjects were arrested and found in possession of evidence linking them to the robbery.

Patricia Andrea Young (age 40) of Fortuna was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:

  • Penal Code Section 182 – Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
  • Penal Code Section 496 – Possession of Stolen Property
  • Health & Safety 11364 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Whiski Bruce Moran (age 40) of Fortuna was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:

  • Penal Code Section 211 – Armed Robbery
  • Penal Code Section 417 – Brandishing a Firearm
  • Penal Code Section 182 – Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
