Just before noon on Thursday Humboldt Bay Fire and the Eureka Police Department responded to a report that a man was trapped underneath the Boardwalk at the foot of F Street in Eureka.
The man, HBF’s Sean Robertson told LoCO, had crawled underneath the Boardwalk to take a nap when the tide was lower. He later awoke to find the water level had risen considerably. Passersby reported hearing someone screaming and called for help.
Once on scene, HBF personnel lowered a ladder into the bay and coaxed the man toward dryness. He was wet but uninjured.
