Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release: 

 

On 01-31-18 at about 1:15 a.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff”s Deputy made a traffic stop in McKinleyville for a lighting issue. While investigating on scene it was determined the driver of the vehicle provided a false name. The deputy was able to determine the driver was 39 year old Bronson Lee Townsend who was on three different felony probations for: possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sales, and possession of a dirk or dagger. His drivers license was also suspended. Per the terms of his probation the deputy searched Townsend and his vehicle. 16 grams of methamphetamine, and 20ml of liquid morphine were located.

Townsend was booked on the following charges:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • False information to a police officer
  • Violated terms of probation
  • Driving on suspended license.
