Myrtle Eilene Bones

Myrtle Eilene Bones returned home to her Heavenly Father on December 27, 2017.

Eilene was born in Colorado and moved to Fortuna with her family in 1943. She attended Fortuna High School where she fell in love with her husband, of 63 years, Fred Bones. After marrying they moved to Wyoming, where she enjoyed rock -hunting with family and was active alongside her husband in the Wyoming Jaycees. Her family moved back to Fortuna in 1966 and on to Carlotta in 1990, where she loved to tend to her flower beds, enjoyed attending church at Grace Chapel, and had a great love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Nolan, brothers Donald Nolan Sr and Marvin Nolan, and her sister Edith Nolan. She is survived by her wonderful husband Fred, sister-in-law Doris Nolan of Fortuna and her son Rodney of Eureka. She is also survived by her grandchildren — Julene Bones of Eureka, Scott Bones and his wife Eveliz of Albany, and Lindsy Bones of Sonora.

She has seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons. She also has many nieces and nephews, as well as many other friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow at Calvary Chapel in Fortuna.
