Robert ‘Robbie’ M. Crane passed away peacefully in his home on July 8, 2018. He was born in Naha, Okinawa to Lt. Col. Robert M. Crane and Maida Ann Robertson Crane. 

Robert graduated Eureka Senior High School in 1980.  After graduation Robbie went to Multnomah Bible College in Portland, Oregon. Robbie decided to settle in Eureka where he was an employee of Montgomery Ward, Pacific Lumber Company, Loleta Cheese Factory and Humboldt Creamery before returning to college. Robbie obtained his Master of Arts Degree from Humboldt State University (2005) while there he was a member of The National Honor Society.

Robert was an active member of the masons at Humboldt Lodge No. 79. 

Robbie was fiercely devoted to his companion dogs, Hazel and Hank.  He wanted to help everyone and every animal that came into his life be the best they could be.  He was passionate about his beliefs and was willing to defend his opinion as long as you  were willing to listen. He was an extremely devoted and loyal son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and most importantly friend to all.  He will be missed as much as he was loved.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ann Crane; as well his extended family, lifetime friends John and Dickie Thompson. 

He is survived by his loving father, Robert M. Crane of Spartanburg, SC;  (sister) Nancy Ann Crane Barlass (Ben, son David) of Katy, Texas;  (sister) Merry Lynn Crane of Gatesville, Texas;  (brother) Jeffrey V. Crane (Hope, daughter Isabel) of Moore, South Carolina; niece, Ruth Barlass Norris (Michael) of Greer, South Carolina;  nephews, Andrew Barlass of Dallas, Texas and Samuel Barlass of Katy, Texas.  Extended loving and loyal family friends, Mark and Verlena Freson of Fortuna, California.  As well as numerous cousins and friends in the Northern and Southern California areas. 

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
