Emergency personnel are on scene at the Kaiser North Medical hospital campus in Santa Rosa responding to a tanker truck crash that occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Santa Rosa Fire Department said the tanker truck was carrying oxygen and is treating the collision as a hazmat incident.
The hospital has been evacuated.
The Press-Democrat reports that Kaiser staff heard a “big explosion” and that the first fire crews to arrive at the site of the crash extinguished a small brush fire.
Per CHP, Highway 101 is currently closed in both directions between Bicentennial Way and River Road.
