Numerous Outpost readers write in to alert us to/ask about smoke seen up Greenwood Heights way.

Phil Monteith was kind enough to give us permission to use his photos and video of the blaze which he says is located about 4 miles up Greenwood Heights Drive. He tells us that work crews with chainsaws are currently on scene containing the blaze. A helicopter has made multiple water drops.

UPDATE: From Humboldt Bay Fire:

Just after 1 PM this afternoon, Humboldt Bay Fire along with other local agencies responded to a vegetation fire in the Greenwood Heights area.

We would like to let you know the fire is well contained and there is no threat of spread.
