George (“Butch”, “Uncle Buck”) Anthony Maciel, 65, passed away unexpectedly April 23, 2018, at his home in Westwood, California.
He was born January 21, 1953, in Arcata to Joe and Betty Maciel. He went to Arcata High School in Arcata where he met his first wife, Rhonda. They got married in 1972 and had two boys, Jason and Jeremy.
He worked in the local mill and later became a truck driver, just like his father, for over 30 years.
George truly lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures; spending time with his family and friends with jokes, playing cards and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Betty; a brother, Larry; two sisters, Shirley Bugening and Terri Wallis; two sons, Jason and Jeremy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and six grandchildren.
George is preceded by in death by his father, Joe Maciel.
A Celebration of George’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Moose Lodge, 1791 Sutter Rd. in McKinleyville.
