Travis A. Ford passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at Stanford Medical Center on March 20, 2018 after a brief acute illness.

Travis was born May 2, 1978 in Eureka, attended local schools and spent the last twelve years working for Renner Petroleum / Valley Pacific Petroleum Services

Travis met his wife, Renee, at Trinity Lake while on a camping trip and enjoyed sixteen years of a love-filled marriage. Their joy expanded with the addition of two sons.

Travis was strong, smart, and wise but more remarkable was his kindness and compassion to others. Travis was a good son, husband, father and friend to many, many people. He had a passion for supporting youth sports, coaching Little League, basketball and soccer. Summers were spent on annual family reunions, baseball games, and camping trips, while winters were spent hunting and traveling to Warrior games with relatives. At the forefront of Travis’s life was family and friendships.

Travis gained his angel wings and is now reunited with his son Brayden. While the pain of our loss will continue, our hearts hold onto the wonderful memories created with Travis.

Travis is preceded in death by his son Brayden Allen Ford, his grandparents and other extended family. Travis is survived by his wife Renee, his son Jeran, parents Tim and LaVerne Ford, brothers Billy Close (Alisa), Bobby Close (Antonieta), Patty Durbin (John), his father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Linda Sundquist. Travis considered his brother-in-law Andy Sundquist (Catherine) and his cousin Larry Ford to be like brothers to him, holding a special place in his heart for their children, Chezney and Preslee Sundquist and Lane and Luke Ford. Travis was blessed to have an abundant amount of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration will be held on March 31, 2018 at the River Lodge, 1800 Riverwalk Drive Fortuna, CA from two o’clock until four o’clock in the afternoon. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be provided immediately following the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brayden Allen Ford Foundation, in care of the Humboldt Area Foundation, 363 Indianola Rd, Bayside, CA 95524, or your favorite charity.

A special thank you to Travis’s work family — Renner Petroleum/Valley Pacific Petroleum, Teresa Noga, Stasia Sefton and Colette Washington, and Stanford Medical Center for going above and beyond.
