On the morning of March 11, 2018, this loving father and grandfather died peacefully in his sleep, leaving a hole that can never be filled.

Bryce was born on January 19th, 1952 at the Scotia Hospital. He lived and worked in Humboldt County for most of his young adult years. Being a jack of all trades, there wasn’t much he didn’t know how to do, but his passion was driving trucks. One of his famous saying was “I can drive better backwards than you can forward,” and this was very true. In the early ‘80s Bryce moved to Lake County with his new wife Janie Hixson, where he lived for over 30 years.

Bryce was a fun-loving, humorous man whose integrity was unmatched. He fully enjoyed life and spending time with his family. His hobbies included fishing, shooting, car mechanics and metal detecting (aka nail hunting) among countless other things.

In the summer of 2014 Bryce moved back to Humboldt be closer to his children and grandchildren. He lived out the remainder of his days here.

Bryce was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Nellie Hixson, and his sister Bessie Vanlandingham. He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Wheeler, and brothers Wesley, William, and Robert Hixson; his children, Maija Hixson, Misty Dewberry, Bryce Hixson Jr., and Jordan Croft; and his grandchildren, Kayce, Kaysha, Sierra, Cheyenne, Jedidiah, Haley, Averie and Bradley.

Dad, you will forever be in our hearts. We will miss your beautiful smile and encouraging words.
