Paul Thomas Jager passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on April 20,2018. He was sixty years old.
Paul was born in Eureka on June 19, 1957 to Frank and Fredia Jager. He attended Jefferson Elementary School, Jacob’s Junior High, St. Bernard’s and Eureka High schools. He made many lifetime friends during his school years. During his younger years, Paul was a member of Boy Scout Troop 54. He enjoyed his many hiking and canoeing adventures with his fellow scouts and older brothers.
After school Paul worked in the fishing industry on several local boats. He also worked for a time fishing in Alaska. During down times he worked construction in the local area. In addition, he excelled as a farmer in the Blocksburg area. He loved hiking, camping and gold mining with his boys.
Paul is survived by his three sons, Alex, Jack and Norman; his five grandchildren, Dimitra, Anastasia, Kaden, Ava and Violet; as well as his fiancee‚ Tracy Witham, and his special friend Bells Seviour. Paul came from a large family and leaves behind seven brothers and sisters who will miss him — Dora Kaliamos, Frank Jager, Michael Jager, Patty Roberts, David Jager, Dorothy Wentworth, and Adam Jager. His special cousin, Tom Kaliamos, who helped locate family will deeply feel this unexpected loss. Plus many nieces and nephews that he adored and some lifelong friends.
He lived life to the fullest. He was very adventuresome, with a full stamped passport.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Fredia Jager.
A celebration of life will held at the Eureka Elks Lodge on May 20, 2018 from 1-4pm. Please join his sons and family to honor a wonderful man who left us all too soon. Please wear your best tye-dyed or Hawaiian attire.
